Domestic Priorities and Geopolitical opportunities of North Africa’s Energy Transition in Tunis, Tunisia February 11th 2025

Organized by the Middle East Institute and the KAS Foundation, this workshop provided updates on North Africa’s Energy Transition by a panel of experts from their respective countries. Lessons learned and case studies from across the region have been shared along with its biggest successes as well as lingering obstacles. Scaling-up renewable energies, their industrial integration within global supply chains and well as the countries decarbonation strategies along with regulatory, infrastructure and technical barriers have been reviewed in addition to water-energy-nexus approaches. The workshop concluded on practical steps and mechanisms as well as on the role of European partners that are likely to advance regional cooperation and cross border exchanges.

Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2025

At the invitation of the German Federal Foreign Office, Khalid Benhamou (CEO of Sahara Wind) attended the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue Conference 2025. As the largest and longest-running energy transition conference organized by the German government, this event brought together delegations from more than 40 countries and, in total, more than 2000 attendees from over 100 countries. Sahara Wind’s support for a safe, affordable, and environmentally responsible global energy transition has been shared by key stakeholders. These included high-level policymakers, representatives from industry, science, as well as civil society who gathered in Berlin during this two-day event.
